A phobia can be described as
an irrational fear that is dealt with by the avoidance of the feared
object to the extent that it restricts the normal day to day functioning
of an individual.
There are many kinds of phobias e.g. heights, spiders, social gatherings,
dogs amongst others. The underlying reason for the development of
a phobia is specific to the individual and can usually be traced
to previous negative experiences - although for some people, the
cause cannot be identified.
Your therapist will work with you to gently search for any underlying
cause for your phobia and then work towards managing the fear.

Most of our clients come to us with some idea of where they

to move forward with the service and can help you to define a comfortable
pace and direction for your treatment.
